| Today 25,000 people, enough to fill seventy one “747″ jumbo jets, will die from hunger. The same number will die tomorrow and the next day and on into the foreseeable future. And, it will not be mentioned on the evening news. | ||
We know that your heart breaks when you hear these horrific numbers or see pictures of starving children. Perhaps you’ve seen the children in Haiti who literally eat the mud-cakes made by their mothers to quiet their raging hunger. We know you want to do something but, until now, your only option has been to send a check to a distant organization in hopes that they would get food to these children.Now you have a local option! Come, take part in the “No More Mud-cakes for Haiti” Packaging Event, December 29-30, 2009, at the El Dorado Civic Center, |
||
Roll up your sleeves and help us fill a 40′ container with 285,000 meals of rice, soy protein, freeze-dried vegetables, and a blend of 21 vitamins. These meals were designed to support the immune system of children who suffer from severe malnutrition and hunger. At only 30 cents per meal, which includes the cost of all the ingredients and shipping, you can feed a meal to a family of six for only $1.80.
Our partner, The Salvation Army World Service Office, will deliver these meals to starving children in their schools in Haiti. According to two Numana board members, Senators Bob Dole and George McGovern, the best way to stop world hunger is to feed school children!
Bring a group of friends, family, co-workers, your church group, or come by yourself and join us in this first-of-a-kind event in Kansas. We will have simple assembly lines set up as people 4 to 94 years package these nutritious meals for starving children. This highly energetic and fun event is so easy that almost anyone can join in!
Numana needs your help to feed these starving kids in Haiti. If you would like to help pay for the meals (at only 30 cents per meal), become a corporate sponsor, or volunteer at the Packaging Event, or call Rick McNary at 1-316-452-5445 (office) or 316-734-6845 (cell).
