We had something very important to the Suzuki of Wichita family kidnapped yesterday. We are very saddened by this and are working with everyone to have what is rightfully ours returned to us. What are we talking about? Our #1 Suzuki Automotive Retailer in the USA Ranking (We’re now in 2nd place). It was kidnapped by a dealership in New York and we need to get it back. They have a 2 car lead Year to Date through March. Wichita, KS lets Rock & Roll in April and take this back!
I was reading about the Suzuki Method today, which is a musical training technique that involves learning by experience and immersion, as opposed to verbal teaching. The Suzuki Method would argue that children who learn music from books and teachers their whole life have essentially become very talented robots, with no real outlet for the creation of their own personal art. Teaching the Suzuki Method is actually just providing guidelines within which the students can teach themselves–it’s all about nurturing individual art with no pressure on timeframes and specific works.
I am a musician, and although I didn’t know it until today, I have been “trained” with the Suzuki Method.
Now, even though this doesn’t seem “Dealership” related at face value; I believe there are a lot of similarities between the relaxed style of learning music that the Suzuki Method teaches, and the people and processes you will find at Suzuki of Wichita. The fact that it’s called the “Suzuki” Method is just a bonus pun, I don’t believe there is any family relation
When you purchase a vehicle from Suzuki of Wichita, you won’t be required to go through a rigorous, inflexible set of steps. One of our Sales Managers (Roger Laughary) said it very well to a customer of mine the other day, “You drive the bus around here.” Sounds nice, doesn’t it? Aren’t you tired of pushy car guys? To go back to my comparison, some of the Car Guys that I have met in the past remind me alot of some of my old music teachers. “Drive the Tempo! Study More! Sit up! Play it Now!” from a traditional music teacher = “Drive the Car! Pay More! Pay Up! Buy Now!” from a traditional, commissioned Car Guy (I have just decided to not capitalize “car guy” anymore, they’re definitely not a PROPER noun).
Wouldn’t it be better to learn/purchase at your own pace, with no pressure?
